Machine Builder/Assembler

CAM Innovation is currently hiring a skilled craftsman who has a sharp eye for detail and can begin working immediately. This individual will be responsible for the assembly of machinery, fabricated metal parts, electrical equipment, sub-assemblies, and other components tailored to the specifications of our clients.
Job Summary:
As an Assembly Technician/Builder, your primary duty is to assemble machinery, equipment, and subassemblies in accordance with technical drawings, written and/or verbal instructions, and comprehension of the overall machine design and function. Once the custom-made equipment is dispatched to the customer, you will get a chance to travel, get it set up, and train clients on how to use their new equipment.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Assembles machinery, fabricated metal products, electrical equipment, sub-assemblies, and more according to directions.
Interprets technical drawings, schematics, or similar documentation, then builds to those specifications.
Accurately levels the machine prior to assembly.
Uses various machines and hand tools (torque wrenches, calipers, micrometers, air tools, gauges blocks, and other precision measuring devices) to accomplish assigned tasks, maintain close tolerances, and insures proper operation.
Drills, taps, and reams holes.
Operates overhead crane to position large components or workpieces.
Inventories tools, parts, and supplies: contacts materials handler if supplies are needed.
Operates electrical test equipment including multi-meters, RPM counters, and sound meters.
Domestic and foreign travel as needed for set-up and repair of machinery.
Assist in machine packing and crating.
Other duties as assigned by Manager.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Basic computer skills required to open and view technical information.
Ability to read and understand technical drawings and schematics.
Detail-oriented and consistent.
Works well as a productive member of a team for on time shipments.
Ability to properly maintain and perform repairs on equipment.
Basic ability in mathematics, reading or writing.
Preferred Skills/Abilities:
Painting
5S & Lean Manufacturing experience
Education and Experience:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of standing and performing repetitive tasks for most of the workday.
Must be able to lift up to 50-75 pounds at a time.
Must have manual dexterity to assemble products or machines as directed.
Must have excellent hand-eye coordination.
Ability to differentiate between colored wires, tabs, and electronic components.
Must wear eye protection and safety footwear.

Machinist
Job Summary:
Machinists are skilled professionals who operate a range of machine tools such as milling machines and lathes. Their primary function is to create precise parts for machines and tools, using a combination of manual and automated equipment to achieve exact measurements. Their aim is to ensure that production operations are effective and efficient.
Responsibilities:
Define and document job setup requirements
Determine proper job sequences, tools, fixtures, feeds and speeds
Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Provide their own basic shop tools and steel toe shoes
Preform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages
Inspects work against drawings before handing off
Required Skills/Abilities:
Proficient knowledge of mircometers, calipers, indicators, and standard inspection equipment
Experience in using manual machines (lathes, grinders, etc)
Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics and manuals
Good math and written communication skills
Efficient time management skills
Availability to work occasional overtime including weekends, public holidays and evenings
Organizational and communication skills to work with a small team
Preferred Skills/Abilities:
Some experience in programming semi-automated or automated machines (lathes, grinders, etc). Experience with Hass CNC controls a plus
Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) forklift certification is an advantage
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent qualification required
A minimum of 10 years’ experience in a similar role
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50-75 pounds at a time
Must wear safety gear, glasses and shoes, when handling box cutters or similar tools

Application Engineer

Responsibilities:
• Machine Design: Lead the design of machines, using SolidWorks to develop and document.
• Deliver machine and component designs in line with company procedures to match client requirements.
• Finalize Bill of Materials, and component selection for purchasing and manufacturing departments.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Sales, and Manufacturing teams to produce reliable designs.
• Calculate factors such as tolerances, torques, dimensions, and conduct thermal and structural analysis.
• Project Management: Develop, monitor, and adjust project timelines to make sure all design work is
completed on schedule and within budget.
• Define clear goals for all aspects of a project and develop steps for proper execution.
• Provide detailed specifications and budget for proposed solutions, including time and cost involved.
• Proactively seek solutions for potential project challenges and constraints.
• Utilize client and Sales Team feedback to upgrade, improve, and/or repair existing machines.
• Provide support to the manufacturing department during the building and installation process, ensuring
machines are built according to design specifications.
• Document and monitor requirements for proposed updates based on client experiences.
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Demonstrated success in designing machinery and mechanical systems.
• Ability to work with various departments to facilitate the orderly execution of a proposed project plan.
• Essential project management skills.
• Willingness to travel to visit and support clients.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering field.
Five (5) years of experience in developing machines and mechanical systems.
Proficiency with SolidWorks or similar 3D design software and Microsoft Office products.
