CRS Commutator Riser Slotter with Inspection
Commutator Riser Slot Cutter (CRS) automatically cuts the coil lead slots into the middle of each commutator bar. In many configurations cuts can be made without lubricant.
Programmed Cutting Path
The cutting path is stored in the operational recipe. You can alter the programmed saw path using the touch screen controls to suit your preferred cutting profile.
Servo Motor Controlled Movement
The Servo Controlled Indexing Assembly rotates the commutator. A 2-axis servo traverse drive moves the saw through the riser using preprogrammed traverse limits. The process is repeated until all of the commutator slots are cut.
Remote Diagnostic Software
The machine’s control systems can be remotely analyzed to ensure proper maintenance. This also makes it easy to update the control system.
Inspection System
The CRS Riser Slotter has a built-in inspection system, which verifies that the commutator assembly meets a given set of dimensional specifications before it is cut.
The system confirms the number of commutator bars to be slotted. Each commutator bar is also compared against a user defined width tolerance. This allows the user to identify commutator bars that are wider or thinner than desired. If a faulty bar is detected, it can be replaced before slotting the commutator.
The inspection results are plotted on a spreadsheet display. This information can then be accessed via a USB port.
Stores 20 Recipes
Accurate, repeatable machine set-up is simple with the CRS programmable controls. Critical set-up specifications and machine settings for different types of commutators can be pre-programmed into the machine. All your operator needs to do is enter the commutator reference number into the PLC to load the recipe for a specific commutator.
Optical Sensor
The sensor maps each commutator bar. The machine then calculates the proper cut point and locates the saw at the center of the commutator bar. With the CRS there is no build-up of tolerance error so common with milling machine type indexing.
