Now there is a stand alone. multi-function, Combination Commutator Processing machine for turning and facing commutators, automatically undercutting mica slots and deburring and polishing armatures in three easy steps.

CAM's new commutator Turn & Undercut machine greatly reduces armature handling and speeds process time by eliminating the need to move armatures back and forth between single function machines. Designed specifically for shops that handle small to medium sized armatures, the JH is ideal for servicing small DC motors and those used in transit and light rail systems.

The JH's quick change commutator turning attachment mounts on the machine's tool compound. Once commutator turning set-points and carriage speed rates are determined they can be easily programmed and stored in memory for repeatable set-up.

The machine's spindle speed is variable up to a maximum of 500 rpm.
  The JH Combination Armature Machine has all of the features found in our top-of-the-line Automatic Undercutters including: a programmable controller, retractable spindle, laser mica slot sensor and automatic armature indexing. The floating spindle follows skewed mica eliminating constant operator adjustments. On the return stroke the spindle retracts out of the mica slot speeding process time and extending saw life.   CAM's patented Brush Deburring Attachment eliminates tedious and time consuming hand chamfering of each mica slot and speeds clean up. Just slide the attachment onto the JH tool post and the JH will automatically follow the deburring recipe for each armature type.
